Burnt Clay Mezcal Copitas | Wide Mouth | Mezcal Glasses | Clay Cups | Handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico
**PLEASE NOTE- the current batch of these copitas do not have an interior glaze. The insides look the same as the exterior**
These artisan mezcal copitas are made from natural, local clays that have been gathered by hand in Santa Maria Atzompa, Oaxaca, Mexico famous for their barro negro (aka black clay)
Perfect for sipping mezcal or tequila, these shot glasses will make a stunning addition to your home or bar
The earthy, pewter tone of these mezcal cups is achieved by the technique in which the pieces are fired, what’s known as burning the clay. Each piece is finished with a light interior glaze, while the exterior remains unglazed to highlight the natural colors and textures of the clay.
Beautifully handmade, each clay cup will vary slightly in size, color and shape. Each one holds around 1.5 ounces and measures approximately 1” inch tall with a diameter of 2.25”
By purchasing this item, you are helping artisan communities in and around Oaxaca to be able to continue making a living through their craft.
