Jicaras are drinking vessels made out of gourds that come after the calabash fruit is carved out, leaving the shell which is hung to dry. The resulting vessel is known as a jicara which is the Spanish word for cup.  Not just for mezcal, they can be used for any kind of beverage or as a bowl for serving food.

These traditional, hand carved jicaritas are made by artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico

Jicaras are used all across Mexico to share and enjoy the unique and complex characteristics of mezcal

Each cup is unique in size and design.  They are approximately 3 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches tall and come with a braided natural fiber base.  They will hold 2-3 ounces of liquid depending on size

Please note that due to the porous nature of the jicara, they will drink with you!

Handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico
